Canada to Support Ghana in Fight Against Forced Marriage

Canadian High Commissioner Christopher Thornley has stated that ending child marriage is a Canadian foreign policy issue. Canada is assisting Ghana in the fight to end child marriage by raising awareness in Canada and providing support to efforts to combat the problem. Canada has also supported the drafting of the National Child and Family Welfare Policies and the development of a Child Protection Training Manual and Toolkit which has been estimated will save 50,000 girls from forced marriage.
