Vietnam hosts a national workshop to end child marriage

Child marriage is prevalent across Vietnam, with almost all localities recording child marriage cases, which have serious consequences for children themselves and for their families and burden the whole of society, a national workshop on the issue heard in Hanoi on October 25. The event was jointly held by the National Committee for Ethnic Affairs, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, the General Office of Population and Family Planning (GOPF) and the United Nations in Vietnam and aimed at exchanging findings on child marriage in the country and discussing ways to tackle the issue.
