Rise in Child Marriages by 2050
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) estimates that without any progress in prevention mechanisms, child marriages will reach 350 million worldwide by 2050. Currently child marriages in Africa are estimated at 125 million; by 2050 they would be 310 million according to UNICEF.
