Britain’s Chief Prosecutor seeks to bring prosecutions for perpetrators of female genital mutilation

In Britain, some 24,000 girls could be at risk of female genital mutilation, and although Britain criminalized FGM nearly 30 years ago, there has not been a single trial for the crime. Britain’s Chief Prosecutor has now called for greater efforts to bring people to trial for the “abhorrent” crime of female genital mutilation.
