Forced marriage is “child abuse”, says EU hearing
Every year, thousands of European girls are sent out of Europe and forced to marry men they’ve never met in foreign countries: most of the girls were born, raised and educated in Europe, MEPs Dianna Wallis (ALDE) and Jean Lambert (Greens) said during a hearing on the criminalisation of forced marriages on 29 June, hoping to tackle the problem at a European level.
