Mandatory FGM Reporting in the UK
While performing FGM is a crime in the Untied Kingdom, only 2 cases have been prosecuted; given the thousands of girls at risk in the UK, FGM is grossly under-prosecuted, and mandatory reporting should help to remedy this gap. The UK is currently consulting with medical professionals, non-profits, and survivors on how to best tackle the issue, and is contributing funds towards this effort.
