Helpline launched for victims of forced marriage and honour based abuse – Express & Star
The project, which has been funded by West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner David Jamieson, will offer confidential advice to victims and survivors across the region.
A forced marriage is a criminal offence in the UK and takes place against someone’s will, while honour based abuse is a violent crime which includes patterns of coercive behaviour which can often be perpetrated by family members.
