Antisemitism on college campuses is rising at a pace not seen in decades—and student leaders are often left to navigate it without support, training, or allies. The If Not Now Fellowship was created to change that.
This week‑long immersive program in New York City brings together student leaders from across the country to learn how to stand up for their Jewish peers, confront antisemitism on campus, and build a campus culture rooted in freedom and open debate.
To bring this vision to life, AHA Foundation is proud to welcome Morgan Miller, AHA’s Director of Education & Alumni Outreach. With deep experience supporting student leaders and advancing advocacy initiatives, Morgan will guide fellows through this transformative week. We spoke with her about her background, her passion for this work, and what students can expect from the fellowship.
Morgan: For nearly my entire professional and academic career, I have been active in the broader nonprofit movement advancing economic, religious, and individual freedom. Yet most organizations in this space—at least in my experience—tend to have a similar flavor, and I often found it difficult to see how my work translated into meaningful impact.
I returned to this work because AHA Foundation fills a crucial gap in the nonprofit sector. It takes a bold and necessary stand against antisemitism and against the harmful practices that women face globally, including female genital mutilation (FGM), child marriage, and honor killings. AHA Foundation bridges the divide between theories of change and real, measurable change in these areas.
Morgan: The If Not Now Fellowship is unlike any other program addressing antisemitism. Its participants—student leaders from across the United States and from diverse backgrounds—will not only learn about the history of antisemitism, its modern manifestations, and how to identify antisemitic bias on campus and in their communities, but will also receive training on how they can help protect and support their Jewish peers.
I am excited for these students to learn more about the ways Jewish people have positively influenced the United States—especially New York, which is one of the many reasons we chose this city as the home for the fellowship. Throughout the week, students will hear from leading experts in the fight against antisemitism, as well as from those at the forefront of the legal efforts to preserve and protect free speech on college campuses. In the evenings, fellows will participate in excursions around New York City to reinforce and deepen their understanding of what they learned during these sessions.
Morgan: AHA Foundation is welcoming sophomore and junior college students who have demonstrated leadership on their campuses and in their classrooms. Leadership may be demonstrated through formal roles in clubs or student organizations, or by fostering meaningful dialogue during class discussions.
Students who participate in the If Not Now Fellowship will be encouraged to host events and discussions that further religious liberty and free speech advocacy on campuses. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, so early submissions are encouraged.
Morgan: Participants of the fellowship will gain not only a like-minded network of peers from all over the United States but also support from AHA Foundation staff and partners as they bring speakers and initiatives back to their campuses. The alumni of the If Not Now Fellowship will be empowered to lead with confidence and courage, receiving ongoing support tailored to their needs.
Morgan: AHA Foundation hopes that fellowship participants will become strong advocates for their Jewish peers both on campus and, after graduation, in their careers across the private and public sectors. After the If Not Now Fellowship, AHA Foundation hopes that the students will feel inspired to take what they have learned in New York back to their campuses to spark open, honest conversations that lead to change.
Morgan: Applications for the 2026 If Not Now Fellowship are now open. If you’re a student leader—or know one—don’t wait. Join us in building a future where freedom is our foundation.
