AHA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to protect, preserve and promote Liberal freedoms and ideals. AHA Foundation was founded by women’s rights activist and best-selling author Ayaan Hirsi Ali in 2007.
Purpose:
We are seeking an enthusiastic Digital Communications Intern to join our marketing team and contribute creative ideas that support our marketing and fundraising campaign goals. In this role, you will assist with developing and implementing digital marketing strategies and tactics, including administrative and production support.
As a Digital Communications Intern, you will collaborate with our marketing team throughout all stages of campaign planning and execution. You will gain hands-on experience in nonprofit social media management and learn how digital channels connect to broader marketing and fundraising strategies. This internship will prepare you to thrive in a fast‑paced, virtual work environment.
Summary of Key Functions:
- Update, proofread, and schedule content across AHA Foundation’s social media platforms.
- Assist in creating compelling social media posts and copy for Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, and TikTok.
- Design visual assets, including graphics and templates, using Canva for social media use.
- Organize and maintain the AHA Foundation’s digital content within Google Drive.
- Curate and catalog quotes from the AHA Foundation’s founder for use in future marketing and communications.
Key competencies, technical background, and experience required:
- Current enrollment in a related BS or Master’s degree.
- Passion for social media and marketing, and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.
- Ability to work well in teams and attend team meetings via Zoom.
- Superb attention to detail, strong writing, proofreading skills, and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literacy, and working knowledge of Google Suite and social media management systems like Later.
- Self-motivated; excellent time and project management skills.
- Familiarity with marketing computer software and online applications is a plus. (e.g, Canva, Adobe, iMovie or other video editing software)
