Changing Attitude about FGM in the United Kingdom

2015 has proven to be a transformative year in terms of efforts to end female genital mutilation (FGM) in the United Kingdom. According to new data there were 1,385 cases of FGM from July-September 2015; 50% of these cases came from London and 17 of the cases involved girls under the age of 18. However, more cases have been brought to court for prosecution than ever before representing a changing attitude among potential FGM victims.
