A murder in Detroit is raising awareness of the plight of women in situations of domestic violence and is bringing offers of outreach to women in dangerous situations: “(As) Muslim (girls) living here, there’s a lot of pressure on us, but it’s okay,” Mahmuda Begum, a friend of the victim, said: “There are people like us who are here to help you.”
