Medical Procedure Helps Victims of FGM Regain Sexual Sensitivity, Identity

An increasingly common and quick procedure, known as a clitoroplasty, can help victims of FGM regain sensitivity and reduce pain in areas that have been cut. It restores the clitoris, which helps victims reclaim their sexuality, bodily autonomy, and identity. FGM can leave lasting pain in scar tissue and in the pelvic region, which a clitoroplasty can help as well.
