Opinion: Why I drew the cartoon: The ‘Muhammad Affair’ in retrospect

Danish cartoonist Kurt Westergaard, creator of the “crisis” cartoons, writes: “When –in early September 2005– I got a brief request from my editor at the Danish daily Jyllands-Posten to draw my impression of the prophet Muhammad, I had little idea of what I was getting myself into.”
