Police Failing to Spot Honor Crime in the UK

In the United Kingdom, Sir Tom Winsor, Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Constabulary, has reported that police have been sending women and children in danger of honor violence back to their homes. Police either haven’t been spotting signs of honor-related violence or haven’t been trained on how to identify those at risk. Estimates show that there have been approximately 11,000 cases of honor crime between 2010 and 2014.
