Summer Increase in Egyptian FGM Incidences

For many girls in Egypt, summer represents an increase in female genital mutilation (FGM) cases. Egypt is one of the nations with the greatest prevalence of FGM even though the procedure was outlawed in 2008. Egypt has announced plans to try and reduce FGM incidents by 10-15% in the next five years. This goal represents a changing trend and the emergence of campaigners against FGM.
