Twice as many women as expected helped to avoid forced marriage
In the United Kingdom, nearly twice as many women as expected have been placed under special protection against forced marriage: in the 12 months since the new forced marriage protection orders were introduced, 86 women have been granted the civil safeguards to prevent them being married against their will.
