UN Human Rights Council Calls for End to Forced Marriage
The UN Human Rights Council has adopted a resolution calling for an end to child, early, and forced marriage. The resolution follows up on the goal of eliminating child marriage and female genital mutilation (FGM) that is set to be included in the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which will be released in the fall. The resolution was supported by over 85 nations.
