Story of Forced Marriage in Kenya
The story of the forced marriage of Younis, a member of the Samburu in Kenya, has been released. She experienced a forced marriage at the age of 9 to a man almost 70 years her senior. Younis escaped after a week in the marriage. Her story reveals the experience of many girls who face forced marriages, FGM, and other forms of persecution, but are hesitant to resist in fear of being disowned by their families and communities.
