I’m writing with urgency because a major child‑protection bill in your state is stalled—despite having no public opposition.
Right now, Ohio has a strong bipartisan bill, SB341, that would finally end child marriage in the state by setting the minimum marriage age at 18, with no exceptions. No one has opposed it. Not one individual. Not one organization.
And yet, the Ohio Senate Judiciary Committee has refused to bring it to a vote.
Multiple public hearings. No opposition. Still no vote.
We think Ohioans deserve to know why—and we want legislators to hear that the world is watching.
We need your help to call on the Senate Judiciary Committee to act. On social media you can direct your message to @OhioSenateDems and @OhioSenateGOP—the caucuses responsible for allowing this bill to stall. You can also find your senator here and tell them to urge the Senate Judiciary Committee to vote on and pass SB341 and support this crucial and commonsense legislation.
Thank you for standing with us and helping push Ohio toward long‑overdue protection for its children.
