New British Push in Honor Killings

In the first half of this year alone, the British government’s Forced Marriage Unit–which deals with honour violence because of its frequent links to forced marriage–had received 2,000 calls: in a bid to combat these marriages, the British Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) announced plans last week to increase the number of lawyers in London who specialise in honour-based violence from 11 to 22.
