‘Pakistan in grip of Islamic extremism’
The tragic killing of Salman Taseer, governor of Pakistan’s Punjab province in Islamabad on Tuesday by a member of his own personal security detail, will throw the already roiled socio-political domain of Pakistan into even greater turmoil: the motivation for the killing appears to be the controversial position taken by Taseer over the blasphemy laws in vogue in Pakistan.
